"But their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law they meditate day and night." Psalm 1:2
Wednesday Holy Commion
"And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 1 Corinthians 11:24
Every Wednesday, people hungry for God's word gather at separate times: The first is at 11:00 am in the Parish Hall. Led by Dick Hoffman this group reflects on the coming Sunday's Gospel lesson through thoughtful and prayer conversation on God's word.
At 7:00 pm, Fr. Alex leads a study also in the Parish Hall on a book of the Bible of a special topic relevant to people's lives and their journey's in faith. Currently Fr. Alex is leading a study on the Nicene Creed. Each week the group explore how the Church came to believe the core truths it teaches about Jesus Christ.
Every Wednesday St. Vincent's offers two celebrations of Holy Communion. At. 10:00 am in the chapel those in need of mental, physical, emotional or spiritual healing may come forward for prayer and anointing with Communion to follow. Those coming forward don't need to reveal their need, only be open to receiving prayer and healing.
At 6:30 pm the community gathers in the chapel for Holy Communion before the 7:00 pm Bible Study lead by Fr. Alex. Wednesday evening Eucharist is a long-standing tradition in the Episcopal Church and St. Vincent's is happy to continue it.
